Michael Coyle

Senior Solicitor Advocate and Managing Director

Michael is the owner of The Trademarkroom and heads the team. As a Solicitor Advocate, he is one of a select group of legal experts qualified to represent clients as an advocate in the Higher Courts in England and Wales.

He holds a Master of Laws degree (LL.M) from Nottingham Trent University and is a guest lecturer at Southampton Solent University. He has also completed a teaching stint at the Academy of Music in Guildford where Michael taught copyright law.

Michael is highly regarded for his work in all areas of intellectual property law (including any matter relating to trade marks), litigation and company/commercial matters. He regularly advises on non-contentious issues including regulatory and statutory obligations and has been involved in many successful disputes, with a strong reputation for finding common sense and practical solutions for clients.

In 2017, Michael was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law from Southampton Solent University for his contribution to the University and his continued support to its students.

Ellis Sweetenham

Senior Intellectual Property Law Consultant

After achieving a First Class LLB Law degree from Southampton Solent University in 2016, Ellis went on to complete an LPC LLM in Legal Practice in 2017 at the University of Law. Following her training, Ellis was admitted to the role of a Solicitor in February 2019.
As part of her role as a Senior Intellectual Property Law Consultant, Ellis manages the team and is there to advise all clients on any area of trade mark law. Ellis prides herself on her ability to act within her client’s best interests at all times, pushing forward to assist them in ensuring their brand is fully protected. In addition to assisting Trademarkroom clients in protecting their brand, Ellis will also be on hand as part of her role as a Solicitor at sister company Lawdit Solicitors to assist with any contentious matters that may arise.

Yanyan Tang

Yann is a Chinese Lawyer and Patent Agent specializing in intellectual property law, arbitration and litigation, and company compliance. She has Lawdit as an incoming Trainee Solicitor with a heavy emphasis on filing trademarks in China including Hong Kong. She helps clients in growing their businesses without legal hassles and commercializing their intellectual property. Since September 2021, she has been pursuing her LLM degree at Queen Mary University of London.
In her spare time, she likes Post-Rock, photography, running, hiking and playing tennis.

Lora Krasteva

Intellectual Property Law Consultant

After achieving a First-Class LLB Law degree from Southampton Solent University, Lora is currently undertaking her part-time Legal Practice Course and Master of Law alongside her position in the Trademarkroom.
In her role as an Intellectual Property Law Consultant here at the Trademarkroom, Lora carries out trade mark searches, files trade mark applications, files and manages renewals and advises clients throughout the various stages of the trade mark application process. In addition to this and as part of her Trainee Solicitor role at sister company Lawdit, Lora will assist Ellis with any contentious trade mark matters that may arise.
Outside of work, Lora enjoys yoga, going on long walks and learning new languages. She is fluent in Bulgarian and English.
